You can choose whether to be a postal or internet only or combined member.
POSTAL members are sent a Magazine and Bulletin every quarter. You are given details of your local regional organiser to contact to arrange sponsorship if you wish to use the postal contact system or the library. Cost of membership depends on where you live.
INTERNET only members do not to receive any post from the society. The Magazine and Bulletin are both available in the members area of this web site.
COMBINED membership means that members have access to the members only part of the web site as well as receiving the magazine and bulletin by post every quarter. The advantage of this arrangement is that the magazine and bulletin are easier to read in printed form but the internet versions have more colour photos.
The membership application page includes details of cost of membership and methods of payment (credit card / cheque / postal order ) When applying for membership please state clearly whether you wish to be a postal member, internet only, or combined member.
The Beaumont Magazine provides readers with a lifeline to the wider world.
The Beaumont Bulletin is sent out with each issue of the magazine. The Bulletin includes details of support groups and events in each region, details of "big sisters" who are prepared to help other members on a one to one basis and a contact email directory of members.
Contact details of regional and area organisers who can provide support and information to members. The Beaumont Society is the only Transgender support group in the UK who provide telephone numbers for members to use to contact their local regional and area organisers.
When you first join the society you will be a provisional member until you have been sponsored by either your Area Organiser, Regional Organiser, or Society Officer or upon first membership renewal.
Sponsored members can use the society library and postal contact system.
Your membership of the society enable us to represent the transgender community at a national and regional level. We educate, we promote a positive image and we advocate for acceptance of all the transgender spectrum.
The transgender community has become much more accepted by society since we were first formed, but there are still many challenges that face us and only by working together can we continue to improve our image and acceptance by the wider community in which we live.
Wives and Partners can choose to either join the society as a member in their own right or to join the society as an associate member. Associate members do not pay any membership fee and do not receive a separate copy of the magazine or bulletin, but are very welcome to attend any of our meetings and events. Please contact your Regional Organiser if you would like to discuss this further.
