I married my husband in 2000. He was very honest with me before we got married and it must have been very difficult for him, but he confessed to me the need to wear women's clothes and that was a part of him that will never change.
I was totally numb , not really able to understand this new world that I had just been suddenly plunged into, this was just days before we got married. Since then, having attended many social weekends and various weekly meetings I have gained more understanding of the Transgender world and the people within it.
I had to trust my husband's judgement of the people we met and the events we attended and have found there is a lot of support and friendship within the Transgender community. The organisers of the excellent social weekends and events keep a high standard of dress code throughout, ensuring the enjoyment and safety of all who attend.
I feel now that I can offer my husband support as a result of my understanding of the issues relating to the Transgender world and cross-dressing and this understanding I believe has brought us closer together.
